What are Panic Attacks?

Panic attacks occur when adrenalin, the hormone responsible for the 'fight or flight' self-preservation response, reaches a level which causes the body to experience intense physical sensations and anxious thought processes.

Panic attacks are the symptom of an underlying anxiety condition which causes the body to become stuck in a habitual (instinctual) 'anxiety cycle', fuelled by anxious thoughts.

The initial anxiety (which creates the panic attacks), has caused the Amygdala, a small structure in the subconscious mind which acts similarly to an 'anxiety thermostat' regulating the bodies 'normal' anxiety level, to become 'stuck' at a higher level of anxiety.

It does this by 'learning' that the new anxiety level is appropriate. This 're-set' happens when the Amygdala receives regular anxiety signals, for example, during panic attacks.

You know, consciously, that this new anxiety level is wrong, but your mind thinks it is entirely appropriate. This is when panic attacks develop. The cycle is then very difficult to break.

In order to eliminate anxiety (and therefore panic attacks completely), not only must this 'fear cycle' be efficiently broken, but a structured process of 'unlearning' the anxiety response must be implemented. Doing this in the correct way will permanently and quickly remove your panic attacks.

It follows that by removing the underlying fear which fuels your panic attacks, you will eliminate them completely. There has never been an example when this hasn't happened.

This is not only entirely scientific and possible, but you can and will do this, you simply need the correct guidance.
